This year I had the opportunity to spend New Year´s Eve at the Palace & Spa in Lausanne.

After arriving at the hotel, we were led to our room, with a beautiful view on the Lac Léman (Lake of Geneva).

Unfortunately the weather was very foggy, but I could easily imagine how breathtaking the view must be on a clear, sunny day.

After checking out the luxurious room (the bathroom was my personal highlight!), we decided to grab something to eat in the local sushi restaurant. And I must admit: the sushi was super good!

All in all, the hotel includes 4 restaurants and 3 bars, so there are many options to choose from.

So what to do next? Of course relax next to the fancy indoor pool!

Besides that, the Spa area of the hotel offers a jacuzzi, a sauna, a hamam and a gym. You can also make an appointment and profit from the many body and facial treatments.

Since we knew that it´s going to be a looooong night, we had made a reservation for dinner at 9:30pm...enough time to get some rest in the room and to make ourselves look fresh and pretty.

We had booked a table at the "Brasserie du Grand Chêne", a very nice, cute restaurant that just makes you feel as if you are sitting in a Brasserie located in the center of Paris.

We finished dinner at around 11 pm and decided to head over to one of the bars, called "Habana bar". While listening to some life music and talking to the other guests from all over the world, we waited for the new year to come.

In the morning we were woken up by the room service, bringing the breakfast we ordered the night before. The cool thing is: you don`t even have to pay extra for it!

Once you arrive at the hotel, you are asked if you`d like to have breakfast in the lobby or upstairs in your room.

The staff of the hotel is super friendly and tries everything to make you feel like at home. Everyone greeted us with a cheerful "Happy New Year" and the check-out was very easy-going.

All in all, staying at the Palace & Spa in Lausanne was a nice and fun way to start into the new year.
